Jan 29, 2012: Retina India Hyderabad Chapter met for its first meeting of the year, which included the following activities: (1) Insight to the retinAware and inclusive education programs of Retina India; (2) a talk by Khali Sekhar, a Probationary Officer with Bank of Baroda, on preparation for the banking examinations, where to source the material for it, and the pattern for the exam; (3) a talk on iPad accessibility by Rakesh Paladugula from Cognizant Technology Solutions; (4) Symbian Anna touch functionality using talks and what’s new in Anna compared to S60 third and fifth versions by Srikanth; (5) Telugu TTS and its applicability a real demo by Mr. Buchi Babu from IIIT; (6) Felicitation to volunteers who volunteered RI booth in VRSI conference from December 1 to 3, 2011; (7) Cultural songs by Prasanthi, a Student and a member of RI; (8) Discussions on the plans for the current year; & (9) Vote of thanks to Punjab National bank officials for providing their venue.

Dec 1-3, 2011: Retina India presented its work, and its various objectives to the retina specialists from around the country, and those from around the Asia-Pacific region, during the Asia-Pacific Vitreo-Retina Annual meeting, which was organized in Hyderabad, in combination with the Vitreo-Retinal Society of India Annual meeting. 

Nov 30, 2011: The First Advocacy Round Table for Retinal Diseases was organized in Hyderabad, which was attended & presided by Dr GN Rao, Chairman & Founder of LV Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad. The meeting was attended by various representatives, which included patients, patient advocates, non-profit organizations, insurance sector, industry, along with retina specialists. Dr RV Azad, Chief of RP Center, AIIMS, New Delhi, Dr T P Das, Medical Director, LV Prasad Eye Institute, Bhubaneshwar and Dr S Natarajan, Medical Director, Adiyta Jyot Eye Institute, Mumbai, attended the meeting. A formal report will be released in the next few days, while we are working to organize the next meeting in the next few months.

Nov 26, 2011: The South India Regional Conference on Inclusive Education was organized at the Presidency College, Chennai, which brought together teachers, administrators and other stakeholders from various states in South India.
